The Drop in Center is the heart of the Five City Project ,It is the place where contact is established , maintained and behaviour change effected.Located as they are in areas with large Drug related activity(Buying /selling/Using) they are above all convenient for the target population to accesses. The drop in center is a new concept in the Indian context, where those seeking treatment invariably have to go to hospitals and clinics that offer treatment services, often based in psychiatric hospitals

At the peak of the project most DIC's (12 in no) had a long line of clients waiting for their substitute medication, exchanging their used syringes, looking for treatment of their abscesses or other ailments or just dropping in for a cup of tea and chat with staff members.
